Catch the Wind (CD) - We Five
We Five was a San Francisco based folk rock group best known for their 1965 remake of Ian and Sylvia's "You Were on My Mind", which rose to #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The band was formed by Michael Stewart, brother of John Stewart of the Kingston Trio, with core members Bob Jones (Baritone-Tenor, 6-String Electric Jazz Guitar, 12-String Electric Guitar); Peter Fullerton (Tenor, Acoustic & Fender Bass); Jerry Burgan (Tenor, 6-String Acoustic Guitar) and lead singer Beverly Bivens (Low Tenor to High Soprano, Rhythm Guitar). The group recorded two albums with Debbie Burgan singing lead; replacing Bivens, who left the group in late 1966: 1969's Return of the We Five and 1970's Catch the Wind, presented here. The album features songs written by George Harrison, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Kokomo Arnold, Donovan, John Stewart, Don Gibson, Jerry Burgan and others. All selections newly remastered.
